This symposium provided medical professionals with essential medical and surgical knowledge. Indeed, a great opportunity to share experiences with our medical experts from all around the world.

Top officials from the National Health and Family Planning Commission of PRC, the leaders of Chinese Medical Doctors Association, and Peking University doctors from Beijing were honorable keynote speakers and presenters.

All of them have helped plan and strategize this exciting medical platform. So have dear friends from the Gusi Peace Prize International. These peacemakers foresaw the importance of regional and international medical peace and have worked with us to achieve this new forum.

After all, diseases respect no boundaries. As long as we know that science also has no boundaries to defeat diseases, then we could come together to advance medicine for all of humanity.

This Sino-Asia Pacific Medical Forum aimed to increase our efficiency and be the solution of the majority of the world's medical problems.

This program ensured the quality and safety of clinical practices and positive patient outcomes. Some of the most important VIP guests attended these two-day of events.

They included:

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Manson Fok, is the key organizer of this event. As the president of the Sino-Asia Pacific Forum, Prof. Fok commented, “On behalf of the Gusi Peace Prize International and the forum committee, I would like to welcome you to our 1st Sino-Asia Pacific Medical Forum. It is heartening to see so many international healthcare stakeholders joining us this Macau based forum.”

Former Portuguese President Eanes gave the keynote presentation during forum. We were honoured to have invited some of the best doctors and professors from all around the world to present here in this important forum. This is our mission in line with objectives to be informed and engaged and ultimately advancing medicine.”

On the regional front, top leaders of the three largest medical associations in Asia were on hand: the Philippines Medical Association, the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia, and Chinese Medical Doctors Association. We hope they would work closely with our regionals partners to harmonise the arena of medicine as our primary objective, and to facilitate people to people exchanges. The Joint-Communique document represented by 19 countries was officially signed during the Presidential Dinner.

Professor Fok, President of forum added, “We are indeed living in interesting and exciting times. It is because of the advancement of the internet and of mobile telecommunications that our precious world has shrunk into a small global village. At the same time, the healthcare landscape is rapidly expanding in diversity and complexity. Innovative technologies continue to make in-roads, posing challenges to traditional frameworks of medicine.”

As a result, Prof Fok said, “We have higher expectations from the healthcare professionals and patients and for us to deal with the realities of a small city like Macao that is nonetheless significantly, we have dived into wider regional and international arena by using our international platforms such as Sino-Luso International Medical Forum to connect with all the Portuguese speaking countries.” Dr Fok commented further, “And I must say this is an untried area, but we believe we have a unique platform. The Sino-Asia Pacific Medical Forum will connect with our Asian neighbours and the rest of the world.”

Prof Manson Fok said, “Going forward into the future, we would still like to do more. In the years to come, Macau will also further involve our connections to leverage on expertise in co-creating solutions that reflect relevant perspectives and the needs in perhaps biotechnology, medical education and training and much more, such strategic engagement is especially important in the dynamic environment we work in today in Asia.”

Added Prof. Fok, “The most important key element to longevity is to have peace. Peace and relationships are built on trust and this requires open communication and transparency in sharing information with each other. Through an international medical forum like this, we hope we will also share all these core values and to yield win-win solutions in a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.”
