FHTM Distinguished Hospitality Executive Forum & Internship Talk

The Distinguished Hospitality Executive Forum hosted by Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management and internship talk presented by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts was held on September 22, 2017. This is the first time that FHTM of MUST invited Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts to come to Macau to present the internship opportunities. Most of the speakers are Directors of Human Resource and Recruitment Managers from ten different cities or branches of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
This talk started with a welcome speech offered by the Vice Dean of FHTM, Ms. Amy Chu. Mr. Lawrence Chen, the Manager of Talent Acquisition of Shangri-La Hotel Management Co., Ltd., gave a brief introduction of the background, mission and the future plan of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts followed by the introduction of the internship program presented by the 10 branches. After the internship talk, FHTM students had delivered their CVs as well as interviewed with the HR directors.
Besides the internship talk, the Director of Human Resource Department, Ms. Jenny Chen, from Shangri-La Hotel, Jinan, Shanghai had presented a seminar with the topic “the Advantage of Personnel Development in Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Great China Area”. Ms. Chen not only shared the unique training and development system applied in Shangri-La but also provided very useful tips to our students in their career path development. We believed that with the information students had gained today will be with great help in their near future.
