The 1st FI PhD Student Seminar 2017

The Faculty of Information Technology (FI) held “the 1st FI PhD Student Seminar 2017” in C408 on 14th September 2017. Around 50 graduate students and faculty members attended the seminar, including the Dean of the faculty Prof. Zhang Du andthe Assistant Dean of the Faculty Prof. Li JianQing.

Dean Zhang Du made an introductory remark in the beginning of the seminar, he hope all the PhD students can introduce their research topics and share their research results through this platform provided by the faculty. After the opening remark, 23 PhD students admitted in 2016 made speeches one by one, including Ms Qu Wei who received the highly praise from Dean Zhang Du. In Qu Wei’s research, she applied and developed the pre-orthogonal greedy algorithm theory, and successfully constructed an equivalent approximation theory or sparse representation method in Bergman Space. In identification systems, this method can give new ideas and develop applications in the approximation theory with different frequency segments.

This is the first seminar of FI in the 2017/2018 academic year. 23 PhD students not only introduced their research results, but also shared their study experience with graduate students and faculty members. In addition, this seminar can also inspire enthusiasm for learning of junior graduate students. At last, the seminar was successfully concluded with taking a group photo of all graduate students and faculty members.
