On November 10, 2017, the fifth China (Guangzhou) International Smart City Forum and the Cloud Computing, Big Data, and Internet of Things Conference opened at Guangzhou Luogang International Convention Center. The core theme of the conference is "Take the development opportunities of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Bay Area and create a new situation in the international cooperation on smart cities." Professor LI Jianqing from the Faculty of Information Technology, as the representative of the Macau Institute of Smart City, was invited to the conference. During the conference, Professor Li delivered a keynote speech on "Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Bay Area – A New Smart City Forum" and was a panelist for the "Roundtable on Smart City International Cooperation". He won the "2017 China Smart City Construction Outstanding Person Award" at the awards ceremony. These achievements show that the Macau Institute of Smart City has the co-construction of smart city in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Bay Area.
