HK Pastry Star, Jeffery Koo Gave Culinary Arts Instructions at MUST Training Restaurant

At the invitation of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Macau University of Science and Technology, Jeffery Koo, top pastry chef from Hong Kong, recently hosted a workshop for students of the bachelor of food and beverage program of MUST, instructing students in the culinary techniques for classic French desserts.

On December 11 and 13, 2014, Chef Koo conducted two workshops at the Seasons, the training restaurant of MUST, and gave instructions on the cooking process and recipes of many French-styled pastries and desserts. The students were amazed by Chef Koo’s excellent techniques, and seized the opportunity to ask questions from Chef Koo. During the workshops, Chef Koo and the students joined hands and produced a great diversity of desserts, which won great acclaims from the customers of the Seasons.

As a Pastry Star from Hong Kong, Chef Koo graduated from professional pastry school, and studied the newest European cooking techniques for desserts with Pierre Gagnaire, winner of three Michelin stars and second-ranked top chef in the world. At the age of 24, he won an award at Swiss Creation Competition; he has also participated in World Chocolate Masters and DGF Mondial des Arts Sucres and led the Hong Kong chef team to compete in Europe, Singapore, Thailand and other places and won many awards. Chef Koo also started the first chocolate-themed dessert house and a chocolate and dessert culinary art school. He has also been invited to host many TV programs.
