Secretary for Security Mr. Wong Sio Chak Acknowledges MUST’s Educational Achievement

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has been acknowledged for and complimented on her educational achievement by Mr. Wong Sio Chak, Secretary for Security, who promised to continue their support for the tertiary education in Macao and with joint efforts to foster more and more talents for Macao society.

A group of academic and administrative leaders of MUST including Chair Professor Liu Liang, President, Professor Zhang Shu Guang, Senior Vice President, Professor Chen Xi, Vice President, Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President, and Administration Officer Mr. Kwong Ying Wa paid a visit to Mr. Wong Sio Chak, Secretary for Security on the afternoon of February 12th, 2015. This visit was received by Secretary Wong Sio Chak together with Ms. Cheong Ioc Ieng, Chief of Office, and two consultants Dr. Sam Chong Nin and Dr. Adriano Marques Ho. The two sides exchanged ideas on a range of issues in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.

President Liu expressed his sincere gratitude to the SAR government for its long-term support and guidance towards MUST’s development and reported on recent years’ progress, student enrollment and research achievement of MUST. President Liu referred to the facts that the current student population of MUST has reached a total amount of 10,500 including 2,500 postgraduate students. Furthermore, the university has recruited close to 200 teaching and research staff members in the recent years in order to build an internationally excellent faculty and research team, and that MUST will always pursue improvement in quality education and outstanding research, so as to produce more and more competitive talents for Macao society and to comply with Macao SAR government’s policy of moderate economic diversification and strategy of sustainable development.
