MUST President Visits Secretary Chan Hoi Fan

Ms. Chan Hoi Fan, Secretary for Administration and Justice, fully supports the tertiary education in Macao, hoping local students’ spirit of patriotism and loving Macao will be further nurtured and enhanced, and more talents will be cultivated and fostered for Macao community.

President Chair Professor Liu Liang, Senior Vice President Professor Zhang Shu Guang, Vice President Professor Chen Xi, and Administrative Officer Mr. Kwong Ying Wa of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) paid a visit to Ms. Chan Hoi Fan, Secretary for Administration and Justice on the morning of February 26th and were received by Secretary Chan together with Consultant Senior Technician Wong Hong and Senior Technician Mok Man Wai. The two parties greeted each other cordially and exchanged ideas on a range of issues.

President Liu thanked the Macao SAR government for its unwavering support and guidance towards MUST over the years and sincerely hoped that communication and connection with the SAR government could be strengthened. Then President Liu went on to introduce the progresses MUST has made in the recent years including the educational development and expansion, the establishment and growth of research institutes, the stable student enrollments, and encouraging research achievements, etc. According to President Liu, the total student population of MUST has reached 10,500, 2,500 postgraduates included and approximately 200 teaching and research staff members have joined MUST in the last few years for the purpose of building an internationally competitive faculty and research team, so as to realize the aim of continuously improving quality education and producing outstanding research. In this way MUST will continue to contribute to the local community by fostering as many talents as possible.
