“The Exhibition of MUST Professors’ Academic Achievements” was Launched

The opening ceremony of “The Exhibition of MUST Professors’ Academic Achievements” was launched on the afternoon of April 12, 2016. Aiming to show the academic achievements of MUST researchers and the charm of teachers, the exhibition encourages the teachers and students to hold to the school motto of “dedication to practical studies, enhancement of knowledge, ability and quality”, and the scientific spirit. The guests of honor that attended the ceremony were Prof. Zhou Li Gao, Chairman of University Council, Prof. Liu Liang, President, Prof. Pang Su Seng, Vice President, Prof. Sun Jian Rong, Associate Vice President, Prof. Lin Zhi Jun, Dean of School of Business, Prof. Xie Fei Fan, Dean of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Prof. Dai Long Ji, University Librarian.

The exhibition is divided into two parts: gallery of famous teachers and their magnum opuses. Personal introductions and magnum opuses of about 50 professors, chair professors and distinguished professors are displayed with their life mottos and introductions to the books that have influenced them greatly. The professors’ achievements, life insights and experiences will benefit young teachers and students, inspiring them to keep learning.

Prof. Liu stated that thanks to the faculties and students’ joint effort, MUST had achieved outstanding achievements since the establishment: the teaching and research teams had grown bigger and stronger, the research range had been expanded, the research ability had been strengthened, and the number and quality of academic achievements had been increased –papers written by the university’s researchers had been published on international top academic journals like Nature and Science. According to “2015 ranking of universities from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan” published by Center for World-Class Universities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, MUST ranks No. 46. It is the first time that the university enters top 50.

The purpose of the exhibition is to display the academic achievements and to inspire the young teachers and students to work harder for further progress. It is believed that with the teachers and students’ joint effort, MUST will become a distinguished university in Asia-Pacific region in the future.
