Mr. Chen Si Xi, Vice Director of Liaison Office Gave Recognition to the Development and Achievement of Faculty of Law, MUST

On the morning of May 20th, 2016, a delegation led by Mr. Chen Si Xi, Vice Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R. visited Macau University of Science and Technology. They were warmly received by Chair Prof. Liu Liang, President of MUST; Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President of MUST; Prof. Zeng Hua Qun, Dean of Faculty of Law; Prof. Fang Quan, Executive Vice Dean of Faculty of Law; Prof.Huang Ming Jian, Assistant Dean Associate of Faculty of Law; Associate Prof. Yi Zai Cheng, Director of Postgraduate Program; and Assistant Prof. Xie Geng Liang, Executive Deputy Director of Arbitration and Dispute Research Center. During the meeting, Chair Prof. Liu Liang introduced to the visitors the University’s recent development. He pointed out that in recent years MUST has been adopting the policy of attaching equal importance to both teaching and research, giving priority to development of excellent quality education and extraordinary research. The University has also invested substantially in developing industrialization of scientific and technological achievement, as well as moving forward the University’s internationalization, in which MUST had become one of the top hundred youngest universities in the cross-strait region. Prof. Fang Quan also made an introduction of Faculty of Law, such as its education and research, extracurricular activities, and international exchange and cooperation programs. Hoping that Faculty of Law would be developed into a characteristic, international and excellent school, Prof. Zeng Hua Qun said that they would strengthen Portuguese Language education and combine Portuguese and law in undergraduate program for the local students.

Greatly impressed by its development, Mr. Chen spoke highly of the school’s endeavor to cultivate a large number of law specialists for Macau and its role in promoting the legal administration.

After the meeting, the guests visited Faculty of Law, such as Dean’s Office and library of FL, with the company of Prof. Zeng. The guests included Mr. Hong Hao, Director of Law Department, Liaison Office, Mr. Wang Heng, Deputy Inspector, Ms. Tang Ning, Secretary of Liaison Office, and Ms. Chen Xi Wen, Associate Investigator of Department of Law.
