Chinese Association of Excellent Engineers’ Training for Metallurgy invited M.U.S.T. for Membership, Wishing to Strengthen Education-Industry Tie in Jointly Training Talents

Chinese Association of Excellent Engineers’ Training for Metallurgy had a delegation of five people visiting M.U.S.T. on July 12, 2016; the delegation engaged in talks and exchanged ideas with Dean of Faculty of Information Technology, Prof. Zhang Du, and Dean of the University International College, Prof. Sun Jian Rong, on seeking engineering accreditation, elevating the quality of engineering programs, and other matters of mutual interest.

The Chinese Association of Excellent Engineers’ Training for Metallurgy gave recognition to M.U.S.T.’s accomplishments in seeking accreditation for its engineering program and majors, and invited M.U.S.T. to join the Association and provide advisory services and training for members of the Association in the following areas: the common problem that needs attention in all training of engineering-type talents – the formulation of two standards: “Development of the General Standards of the Industry” and “Specific Standards of the Industry for State-level Engineering Practice Education Center”, integration of the excellent educational resources of the four regions, strengthening the joint forces of higher institutions and the industry in training talents, carrying out in-service training for technicians of the engineering industry, jointly participating in designing the bid for accreditation for the engineering education major and the “Extraordinary Plan”, and others.

The partnership of M.U.S.T. and the Chinese Association of Excellent Engineers’ Training for Metallurgy is helpful in enabling the university to expand resources, share resources, learn from others, and improve the quality of its current programs, and to provide better services for the local Macau community.

In June of 2014, a total of 23 higher institutions and enterprises that had participated in the “Extraordinary Plan” Talent-Training Project jointly moved to establish the “Chinese Association of Excellent Engineers’ Training for Metallurgy”; it currently has 10 enterprises: the Ansteel Group Corporation, Chongqing Iron & Steel Company Limited, Hebei Iron & Steel Group, Magang (Group) Holding Co., Ltd., Shougang Group, Shandong Iron & Steep Group Co., Ltd., Taiyuan Iron & Steep Group Co., Ltd., Wuhan Iron & Steep (Group) Corp., SINOSTEEL Corporation, and Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd., and 13 higher institutions: Anhui University of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Chongqing University, Chongqing University of Science and Technology, Northeastern University, North China University of Science and Technology, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Kunming University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology Liaoning, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Xi`an University of Architecture and Technology, and Central South University.
