M.U.S.T. Youth Delegation Visited Hubei

From July 3 to 8, invited by the National Ministry of Education and headed by M.U.S.T. Vice President, Prof. Pang Chuan, a youth delegation went on an exchange visit to Hubei. The delegation consists of 19 M.U.S.T. faculty members from the Faculty of Information Technology, School of Business, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Chinese Medicine, Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the School of Graduate Studies. Mr. Li Yong Xian, Assistant of the Department of Culture and Education, Liaison Office of the Central Government of People’s Republic of China in Macau S.A.R., served as an advisor accompanying the delegation. The exchanges and visits of the delegation strengthened the tie of Macau-Hubei higher institutions, enabling the delegates to have a more heart-felt experience of our country’s development strategies, the diverse minority cultures, and the beautiful sceneries our country has to offer. It is thought that the visit has achieved its expected goals, and generated productive accomplishments.

While in Hubei, the delegation went on visits to several local universities, including Hubei University, the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and the South-central University For Nationalities, and cultural, historical, and natural places of interest, including Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghelou), the 1911 (Xinhai) Revolution Museum, and the Wuhan “Home of Residents”.

While visiting Hubei University, the delegation was warmly received and welcomed by Vice President Jiang Tao, and other principals of departments and administrative units of the university. The Vice Presidents of the two universities respectively introduced the basic situation of the two universities, and reached consensus on collaborations in such areas as exchange visits by students and staff, research, and recommending students for direct admission to postgraduate programs. While visiting the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the delegation paid a visit to the Museum of Chinese Numismatic History, and engaged in exchange talks with the main directors of the university’s departments and colleges, as well as the directors of the University’s Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Affairs Office, research unit, and teaching affairs unit, and reached initial agreement on cooperation between the relevant faculties/departments of the two universities. At the South-central University For Nationalities, Vice President Li Jun Jie of the University headed the directors of the university’s colleges and administrative units in receiving and welcoming the delegation; Vice President Pang Chuan of M.U.S.T. gave an introduction of the recent development of M.U.S.T. and proposed that the two universities engage in in-depth partnership in such fields as pharmacy, law, and business; faculties and departments of the university that have an interest in the cooperation exchanged ideas at the following talks on professional partnership on a deeper level; at the visit, the delegation also had a tour of the university’s Museum of Nationalities.
