President of Naresuan University, Thailand, Visited M.U.S.T., Signing MOU to Enhance Partnership

A delegation from Narensuan University, Thailand, headed by Dr. Sujin Jinahyon, President of the University, paid a visit to Macau University of Science and Technology on July 27, 2016; the delegates were warmly received and welcomed by Chair Professor Liu Liang, President of M.U.S.T., Chair Professor Zhu Yi Zhun, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Professor Liang Yong, Director of the Research and Technology Administration Office, Associate Professor Wang Jing Rong, Assistant Director of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicines, and Ms. Lei Pou Cheng, Assistant Administrative Officer of the University International College, M.U.S.T..

President Liu Liang and President Sujin Jinahyon respectively gave an introduction to the general situation of the two universities. President Liu Liang presented a summary of the main research areas and research and technology achievements of M.U.S.T. over the past recent years, noting that the University has had papers published in world top journals such as Nature and Science, and has been home to the first off-shore partner lab of the Chinese Academy of Sciences – the M.U.S.T. Lunar and Planetary Science Laboratory, which conducts lunar and planetary studies. Prof. Zhu, Dean of School of Pharmacy, Director Liang of the RTAO, and Assistant Administrative Officer Lei of the UIC, respectively gave introductions to the main characteristics of the relevant faculties/schools/offices. After the meeting, the presidents of the two universities jointly signed MOU, reaching agreement on faculty exchange and student exchange, resources sharing, and academic and cultural exchanges, aiming to jointly train more excellent talents.

Escorted by Assistant Director Wang Jing Rong, the delegates then were given a tour of the university’s State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicines and the University Hospital. The guests were greatly impressed by the research projects and the medical equipment of the Laboratory and the Hospital.

Other guests of the visiting delegation include Dr. Suchart Muangkeow, Dr. Manupat Lohitnavy, Dr. Kvish Thammissara, Dr. Non Sowanna, Dr. Anan Qunaroon, Dr. Phanngam Laksuchon, and Dr. Supawadee Parhira.
