On October 8, 2014, Mr. Li Meng, Vice Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Zhou Dating, Director of National Office for Science and Technology Awards, Mr. Sun Hong, Director of China Science and Technology Exchange Center, Mr. He Han, Deputy Director and Secretary of Minister of Executive Office of Ministry of Science and Technology, Ms. Le Jia, Deputy Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, and Mr. Gong Guoping, Deputy Director of Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology visited Macau University of Science and Technology. They were warmly welcomed by President Liu Liang, Vice President Chen Xi, Associate Vice President Jiang Zhihong, Academic Advisor Tang Zesheng, Administration Officer Kwong Ying Wa and Head of RATO Hon Chi Tin.
Prof. Liu Liang expressed his sincere gratitude for their visit. Then, he gave a brief introduction to the development of the university, the characteristics of each faculty, the scale of facilities, and the student enrollment, emphasized that the great achievement of the research institutes of MUST could not be received without the support from Ministry of Science and Technology. The direction of the university development was also discussed with the visitors.
Mr. Li was deeply impressed by the development of the university, saying that MUST could be a role model for other colleges in the mainland China, and its development should go hand in hand with the development of Macau and technology. He also looked forward to further co-operation between the university and Ministry of Science and Technology, confirming that they would continue to support MUST and its research, which would contribute to the development of science, culture and economy in Macau.
Later, the visitors paid a visit to State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicines.
