Macau University of Science and Technology Fall 2018 Internship & Career Fair—Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) Session was held at Block N, M.U.S.T. campus on October 9th, with 30 enterprises from both Macao and Mainland China participating in. There were 24 employer tables and 16 lectures on internship and career opportunities so that students got to know the organizational cultures and positional requirements, and had on-site interviews at the fair.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice President Lin Zhijun of M.U.S.T. noted that adhering to the school motto “Sincerity in Seeking Knowledge and Improvement of Ability and Quality”, FHTM has been offering high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of tourism, hotel and food & beverage management. After gaining the “TedQual” (Tourism Education Quality) certification from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2007, the Faculty received the renewal of the Certification for a maximum time period of 4 years (from 2017 to 2021) in 2017. In addition, the Faculty ranked among top 100 in the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in 2018.
FHTM has always dedicated itself to cultivating high-caliber talents with multiple skills, who are able to combine theories with practice. Besides theoretic courses, FHTM boasts the facilities it offers, including the Seasons, the leading teaching restaurant, the freshly renovated guest house in Block L, operated by our students, and the four newly built and recently operational culinary laboratories located on the second floor of Block O. These new and comprehensive facilities provide our students with the best possible learning and practicing environment so as to better prepare them for their future jobs through workplace simulations.
Associate Vice President Kwong Ying Wa, Vice Dean of FHTM Chu Oi Mei, Coordinator of Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Planning Chan Sao Chai, and Program Directors of FHTM Feng Yan, Wong Weng Chou and Zhang Yang all attended the opening ceremony.
Coordinator Chan Sao Chai remarked that M.U.S.T. Fall 2018 Internship & Career Fair—FHTM Session will be followed by Faculty of Humanities and Arts Session on October 11th, School of Business Session on October 23rd, and Faculty of Information Technology Session on November 14th. The series of M.U.S.T. Fall 2018 Internship & Career Fair was co-organized by Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Planning of M.U.S.T., and sponsored by Macau Foundation and Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation.
