Director's Message

Welcome to the School of Computer Science and Engineering! Today we live in a digital age where information technology and artificial intelligence underpins almost everything we do. We need to look no further, just at the things we carry with us every day: smart phones, smart watches, wristbands that allow you to work, play, communicate, entertain, search for information, socialize with people, and lead a healthy life style. Behind all these gadgets is IT at work. The past few decades have witnessed tremendous social, economical, cultural, and political changes, and IT and AI has played a pivotal role in those changes. IT and AI profoundly alter the way we communicate with each other, search for information, keep in touch with our friends and families, carry out scientific endeavors, educate the next generation of leaders, voice our opinions, do shopping, and share with the rest of the world what we consider interesting. IT graduates today are in high demand in the job market.

School of Computer Science and Engineering (Former Faculty of Information Technology) is one of the four founding faculties in Macau University of Science and Technology. We offer a comprehensive suite of degrees on the cutting edge of information technology and artificial intelligence: from three majors in the Bachelor of Science degree, three concentrations in the Master of Science degree, to three focuses in the Doctor of Philosophy degree.
