Professor Hao Chen from China University of Mining and Technology invited to give a talk

The Faculty of Information Technology held a seminar at Block B, Room 305 on June 18th, 2021. Professor Hao Chen from China University of Mining and Technology was invited to give a talk entitled “Key technologies in a Switched Reluctance Motor Drive”.

Abstract:

Switched Reluctance Motor is a new type of motor, which is runs by reluctance torque rather than the Lorentz force based on the classic Faraday's law of induction. It has advantages of simple rotor structure, high power density and flexible control. The talk introduced the background and state-of-art of the research of SRM. The focus was put on the mechanical and magnetic design of high-performance SRM; the design of integrated multi-port power converter; different control strategies of SRM; fault diagnosis of the motor drive; performance evaluation of the motor drive and its application in EV and renewable energy generation.
