MUST successfully held the 20th IEEE International Conference on Software Quality, Reliability, and Security

The 20th IEEE International Conference on Software Quality, Reliability, and Security (QRS) was held from 11th December to 14th December 2020 at MUST. As the epidemic of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has not been effectively controlled all over the world, the conference adopted hybrid model (on-line and offline meeting). Novel coronavirus did not stop the attendees’ enthusiasm, QRS attracted more than 200 scholars to participate in a series of academic activities.

This QRS is jointly organized by IEEE Reliability Society and Faculty of Information Technology (FI), MUST. Prof. Du Zhang, the dean of FI, is one of three General Chairs. The other two General chairs are Prof. Shaoying Liu from Hiroshima University, Japan, and Prof. Vytautas Bucinskas from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Prof. Eric Wong from University of Texas at Dallas is the Chair of Steering Committee. In addition, Prof. Jianqing Li and Prof. Tao Zhang from FI, MUST are two Local Organizing Chairs. This QRS received 125 submissions and accepted 36 regular papers. The acceptance rate is 28.8%. There are six papers, including the paper whose corresponding author is Prof. Tao Zhang, were recommended for publication on IEEE Transactions on Reliability (TRel). The CAS Fellow, QRS initiator Prof. Huiming Lin and the president of IEEE Reliability Dr. Carol Graas gave the welcome speeches. The conference includes 6 concurrent research tracks and 13 workshops. Hudson Distinguished Professor Kishor Trivedi was invited to give a keynote speech “Software Fault Tolerance via Environmental Diversity”, which attracted all participants’ attention and received a favorable reception.

The QRS is an important academic international conference in software engineering (SE) field, which is ranked by B level in CORE ranking list and ranked by C level in CCF ranking list. As one of the important academic activities of MUST 20th anniversary, it is firstly held by MUST in SE field. This activity promotes the impact of MUST in SE field, which is one of the important steps to promote MUST to be a top-tier research university.
