On August 23, 2022, the "Nanjing, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Teachers and students Academic and Cultural Exchange Camp" sponsored by the Ministry of Education was successfully opened in Nanjing Hohai University. Eight teachers and students from our college were invited to participate in this activity. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, City University of Macau and Jiangsu Hohai University participated in the project. The activities mainly take the form of academic reports, seminars, corporate visits and practical exchanges. The purpose of the activities is to promote the cooperation and exchange in academic, practical and innovative fields between universities in Hong Kong and Macao and those in the Mainland.
From 25th to 26th, teachers and students of our college held a 2-day in-depth academic exchange and discussion on accounting teaching reform with the Accounting Department of Hohai University Business School. Dr. Ding Yongqiang and Dr. Song Jing delivered keynote speeches on blockchain technology and digital commerce respectively, and conducted in-depth discussions with teachers and students of Hohai University. Zhang Zhuo, assistant dean, introduced the progress of "AACSB" being promoted by our college. Du Xiaorong, director of Accounting Department of Hohai University, introduced the general situation of striving for "double first-class" major in accounting. Teachers from both sides also reached a preliminary cooperation intention on jointly applying for new academic projects.
On the afternoon of August 26th, teachers and students visited together China's first big data innovation and application industrial park - Yinkun Nanjing Big Data Industrial Base, to gain a deep understanding of the company's industrial layout, operation model and the development status of various industries. This has laid a solid foundation for our college to cultivate innovative, comprehensive and compound accounting talents.
During the exchange period, teachers and students of our faculty also visited the Qinhuai River Scenic Area, The Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall. We felt the infinite charm of the famous river in Chinese history and the patriotism of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
This exchange activity further strengthened the cooperation between our university and mainland universities, expanded the influence of Macao University of Science and Technology Business School in the mainland, and promoted the academic exchanges in accounting between the two places. At the same time, it will also enhance the understanding of the urban development and local customs of the mainland, and enhance the sense of identity of the young students in Hong Kong and Macao to the extensive and profound culture of China, which is of great significance.
