The 8th MUST GAMES proved to be a resounding success

The 8th MUST GAMES was successfully concluded on 11th, 13th and 15th November 2020 at the University Stadium in Block I. The 8th MUST GAMES was hosted by Macau University of Science and Technology, jointly organized by Students’ Union, Postgraduate Association, and supported by University Hospital. Almost 200 athletes took part in the GAMES. There were 10 Men and Women athletics competitions and team relay competitions in progress within three days, with 30 awards presented.

At the athletics of first day, the 100 meters and 4x100m relay competitions are stimulus and exciting. Athletes entirely did the warm-up exercises. When the command was given by the starter, the athletes sprint to the finish line. The other athletes and audience gave fully support. Team relay competition is a test of strength and team sprit to athletes, and also it is the most favorable event to students. Before heading to the starting point of the race track following the staff, athletes finishing roll-call shouted slogan to cheer up, so as to do their best in the game and strive for good grades.

After two days Athletics Preliminary, there were 10 Men and Women Finals held on 15th. First one in the morning was Men 1500 meters, then 100 meters, and 800 meters were in progress one after another. Men and Women 400 meters, and 4X100m relay finals were held in the afternoon.

The awards presentation ceremony was held on 15th. The guests attending awards presentation ceremony of the GAMES are Vice President Prof. Lin Zhi Jun, Vice President Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Vice President Chair Prof. So, Jacky Yuk Chow, Associate Vice President Prof. Sun Jian Rong, Dean, Faculty of Law Prof. Fang Quan, Director, School of Pharmacy Chair Prof. Zhu Yi Zhun, Dean, School of Liberal Arts Prof. Leong Man Wai, Associate Dean, Faculty of Medicine Prof. Lam Wai Kei, Head of Student Affairs Office Wong Ka Weng, Head of General Affairs Office Lam Ian Leng, President of Student Union BAI, BINGRUI, Director General WANG, YOUXIN, Vice President of Postgraduate Association YING, YUFENG, Director General LI, QIAOQI. In the meantime, they present the awards to the athletes.  

After presenting medals, Vice President Mr. Kwong Ying Wa presented souvenirs to Macao Association of Athletics Affiliates Coach Hao Yun Gong, Coach Sam Yan, and Director of Clinical Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre and Pathology Department Prof. Lam Wai Kei respectfully, and extended gratitude to their guidance and support to the GAMES.

Precautions

  • Competition will be cancelled if less than 8 people or 8 teams
  • Time for roll-call of each competition, make preparation and warm up.
  • Awarded athletes and team must attend awards presentation ceremony held on 15thNovember(Sunday)
  • The congress reserves the right to reschedule the competition 30 minutes ahead or 30 minutes later. Athletes should pay attention to the broadcast so as to make preparation 
  • Roll-call is carried out 30 minutes ahead of the competition, athletes should arrive the venue 1 hour before the roll-call, in case of the roll-call in advance due to the competition time. Athletes who fails to roll-call at the call room when the call has been made for 3 times, which will be considered as wavier. 

Long-distance running (800 meters and 1500 meters), athletes need to measure blood pressure at the first aid office in the venue.
