Laboratory of Ion Channel Biophysics and Innovative Drug Discovery

The laboratory aims to establish a platform for innovative drug screening technologies targeting ion channels, transporter and membrane receptors, including membrane clamp electrophysiology technology, high-throughput fluorescence detection platform, and high-content image analysis platform, etc., to discover the mechanism of action of new ion channels and other membrane proteins related to diseases and possible targets for the action of active molecules in Chinese medicine, and to conduct innovative drug research and development on new targets.

Main research directions.

  1. To carry out R&D activities targeting common complex human diseases, to develop new treatments for malignant tumors, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases, and applying cutting-edge technologies such as membrane clamp electrophysiology technology, high-throughput fluorescence detection platform, and high-content image analysis platform to screen innovative drugs.
  2. To establish a technological chain for the research and development of innovative Chinese medicines with "clear disease causative mechanisms, clear drug targets, and reliable quality assurance of drug efficacy".
  3. To focus on the clinical application of biomedicine and promote new Chinese medicines through research.
