He said that he would continue to campaign for all-round cooperation between Macao and Zhuhai in education and science and technology, accelerate social and societal development of Macao and Zhuhai, and contribute forces to development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Since 1997, when Zhuhai first began to award Honorary Citizenship, altogether 150 individuals have received the honor. In October of 2018, the formulated “Implementation Guidelines for Awarding Honorary Citizenship in Zhuhai Special Economic Zone” was officially put in force. The Implementation Guidelines specify that individuals satisfying one of the ten categories of conditions would be eligible to be awarded “Honorary Citizenship of Zhuhai”. The Award selects awardees once every three years, and awards no more than 30 persons each time.
