Determination of Quality and Safety for Drugs and Dietary Supplements from Chinese Medicines

The SKL for the quality and safety information of Chinese medicines aims to serve business sectors for the quality analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), on-demand new product development, quality assurance, the drafting of novel drugs quality assurance, technical consultant, and technical training. The aim of our service is to apply practical and traditional testing technology, and to develop related testing method. Overall, this will ensure that the TCM products and various food items inMacaumeet the quality standard, including the amount of heavy metal, trace pesticide, microbes, melamine, and the active component of TCM. The Chinese Medicines and Food Safety Laboratory was accredited by National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) in 2008, and with ISO/IEC17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories (registration number: 15743). The Laboratory provide heavy metal, trace pesticide and microbes testing service for TCM materials and products, and is recognized by the Hong Kong government for TCM product quality assurance. TheHong Konggovernment requires a set of vigorous condition for quality monitoring, and a prior recognition from ISO/IEC17025. Therefore, the safety and quality assurance report issued by The Chinese Medicines and Food Safety Laboratory is recognized by both The Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Board and Macau Department of Health. We provide service for the drafting of drugs quality assurance, TCM material testing, and the development of chromatographic fingerprint of TCM materials.
