The MUST Fencing Team represented the University in all the men's and women's foil, sabre and epee fencing events at the Macau East Asian Games Stadium on 19-20 March 2022, Macau Fencing Ranking Tournament，demonstrating the team's perseverance and pursuit of excellence.
This was the first ranking competition of the year and the teams were all in a new spirit for the competition. The new team members and the old team members worked together to achieve good results, with Shen Guoyang winning a bronze medal in men's sabre and Chen Yingrui winning a bronze medal in women's foil and Zhou Yingcen winning a silver medal in women's sabre. In addition, there was an award ceremony after the tournament for the previous year's overall ranking, with Han Feiyang winning a bronze medal in men's foil and a silver medal in sabre for 2021.
The team members gained a lot from the tournament, with the new members gaining valuable practical experience under the guidance of the veteran team members and the veteran team members being inspired by the energy of the new team members, creating a virtuous cycle between the two sides and promoting the better development of the MUST Fencing Team. Through this competition, our fencing team benefited a lot from the practical experience and provided a clear direction for future training. The fencing team will do a good job of post-competition review and conduct more personalised training in order to achieve more excellent results in the future.
