Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine

Founded in 2000, the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) has rapidly developed into the largest multi-disciplinary university in Macao. M.U.S.T. was ranked among the Top 300 Universities in the “World University Rankings 2024” and ranked 26th in the “Young University Rankings 2023”, released by the Times Higher Education (THE) in 2023. M.U.S.T. endeavors to educate students specialized in various fields, attaches equal importance to teaching and research, focuses on the quality of programs, pursues excellence, and has continuously reached new heights in academic development. The University sits on Taipa with a campus of 210,000m2. The beautiful surroundings and convenient transport render it an ideal place for students to pursue high quality of education and research.

As of today, M.U.S.T. owns 10 faculties, and providing a wide range of courses, including Social Science, Science, Engineering, Law, Management, Business, Medicine, Pharmacy, Tourism, Art, Communication, and Language. M.U.S.T. has the right to award academic degrees at doctoral, master, and bachelor levels, with some programs conducted in Portuguese or Spanish. In addition to local students, M.U.S.T. attracts a great many students from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Currently, there are more than 21,000 students enrolled at the University, including 8,500 master and doctoral students and 13,000 undergraduate students.

The M.U.S.T. Faculty of Medicine (FMD), as a pioneer of medical education of Macau, bears the mission of cultivating medical professionals with excellent quality and promoting the development of healthcare in Macau. At present, the Faculty offers five programs in four areas of study including: Doctorate Degree of Public Health (DPH), Master Degree of Public Health (MPH), Master Degree of Nursing (MN), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor Degree of Food and Nutritional Science (BFNS). RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist the Dean in providing strong academic and strategic leadership for the Faculty, and in planning Faculty’s development;
  • To assist in the management of Faculty’s resources as well as educational programs and activities;
  • To extensive communication with the community, and to promote interdisciplinary research and education;
  • To assist in the development of strategies to promote commercialization and entrepreneurship;
  • To expand education and research networks;
  • To strengthen collaboration across institutions.

CANDIDATES SHOULD MEET FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • A PhD degree holder in related discipline and be qualified for appointment at the rank of full professor;
  • Outstanding academic achievements with a broad vision;
  • International recognition for achievements in research, teaching and professional clinical practice;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in hospital management is an advantage.
