"Cultural Journey, Love Journey, Friendship Journey". The 13th University Alliance Medical Students Summer Camp of Guangdong- Hong Kong- Macao was held on July 18, 2021 at Sun Yat-sen University (North Campus) at Guangzhou. This summer camp was hosted by Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. More than 100 teachers and students from universities including Macau University of Science and Technology, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau, Hong Kong Baptist University, Sun Yat-sen University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Jilin University etc. participated in this summer camp. The event hoster Sun Yat-sen University gave an opening speech. The host welcomed the young students from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao. He hoped that the students would show the power of youth in the event; strengthen the communication and gain friendship.
Associate Professor Zhang Guilin from the Faculty of Chinese Medicine (FC) led 10 students to participate in this summer camp and gave a speech at the opening ceremony. She expressed thanks to Sun Yat-sen University, the organizer, and hope the students can establish sincere friendship, learn from each other and grow together through this activity.
This summer camp activity was carried out in a combination of on-site and online methods. The students not only listened to professional medical lectures, visited Zhongshan Medical Humanities Specimen Museum, Clinical Skills Center, Medical Museum and other professional-related activities, but also visited Zhongshan Former Residence, Generalissimo’s Mansion, Guangzhou Urban Planning Museum, etc., and took a ride Ever bright Bank cruised the Pearl River at night and carried out urban adventure activities in the pedestrian street of Beijing Road. Communication and understanding among young medical students have been improved, cultural and academic exchanges among universities have been enhanced.
Due to COVID-19 reason, this summer camp was terminated early on July 22.
