To enhance the understanding of maritime knowledge among Hong Kong and Macau students, 36 students from the Faculty of Law participated in the Summer Course for Hong Kong and Macau Universities hosted by Dalian Maritime University from 5 to 8 July, as an event of the "10,000 People Project".
In addition to our university, the summer course also attracted 79 participants from the University of Macau, the University of Hong Kong, the City University of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The program was informative and innovative, providing a platform for Hong Kong and Macau students to learn about international shipping as well as the shipping system and culture in China’s mainland.
During the event, the students attended several professional lectures online. The organizer retained the most popular offline activity in the past, which is the visit to the Yukun Ship, by preparing a video recording of the visit, live interaction with the ship's captain, a simulated ship driving, and a mock court session at the Maritime Court. All the students who attended the summer course said that they not only learnt professional knowledge from the seminars, but also gained practical experience from the simulated activities. The summer course broadened their horizons, enriched their summer life, and established a good exchange platform for students from the three places.
