n the evening of November 25, 2022, the fourth "Lianhua Cup" legal speech competition's final round and award ceremony, organized by the Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology, co-organized by the Student Union of the Faculty of Law of the Macau University of Science and Technology, and sponsored by the Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation, was held in the N212 lecture hall of the university.
The competition consisted of two stages: the preliminary round and the final round. Eight contestants emerged from the preliminary round on November 11 and successfully advanced to the final round. After intense competition, Yu Ziqi, Wu Yuqi, and Huang Yuhang emerged as the champions, runners-up, and third place winners of the fourth "Lianhua Cup" legal speech competition, respectively. Xie Zijing, Tian Yiran, and Zhang Zexiao received the Excellence Award, with Zhang Zexiao being selected as the "most popular speaker" by the live audience vote.

Partner of AI & Wong Lawyers, Lawyer Ai Linzhi, Program Director of the Faculty of Law, Mou Xiaobo, Assistant Professor Xiao Huina, Assistant Professor Wang Jia, and Assistant Professor Wong Wengkuok were invited to serve as judges for the final round of the competition. Dean Fang Quan and students of the Faculty of Law attended the competition as well.
In the first round of the 5-minute thematic speech competition with the theme "Law and Rights," Yu Ziqi, Wu Yuqi, and Huang Yuhang successfully advanced to the championship round with outstanding performances.
In the second round of the 3-minute impromptu speech competition, the three finalists gave impromptu speeches based on topics drawn by lot. Finally, after the judges' vote, Yu Ziqi won the championship, Wu Yuqi won the runner-up, and Huang Yuhang won the third place.
The judges highly praised the contestants' performances, commended the strength and potential of the Macau University of Science and Technology students, and also offered suggestions for improvement in their performance during the competition, sharing their own speech techniques with the students.

As a signature student event of the Faculty of Law, the "Lianhua Cup Legal Speech Competition" provides students with a platform to express themselves and showcase their talents. Since its inception, the competition has achieved good results in cultivating a public speaking culture, promoting students' public speaking skills, and enriching their extracurricular activities. The competition invited professional judges and legal professionals from both inside and outside the university to provide professional comments and guidance to the students, achieving the teaching goal of emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical abilities.
The fourth "Lianhua Cup" legal speech competition and award ceremony came to a successful conclusion in a warm atmosphere.
