On the afternoon of April 26th, Director Liu Shuqiang, Deputy Director Wang Shuguang, and Huang Fan from the Office of the Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the NPC visited our Faculty of Law for research purposes. Dean Fang Quan, Program Director Mou Xiaobo, Associate Professor Zhu Shihai, Assistant Professors Wang Wanli, Xue Wenchao, Zhou Ting, and Wong Weng Kuok attended the discussion. Vice President Ye Guiping of the City University of Macau and Director Li Hongjiang of the Faculty of Law of the City University of Macau also participated in the event.

Dean Fang Quan warmly welcomed Director Liu Shuqiang and his delegation's visit. The discussion focused on the implementation and safeguarding of the Basic Law since Macau's return to China, as well as future research work, aiming to promote the better implementation of "One Country, Two Systems" and the Basic Law in the Special Administrative Region. During the meeting, the attending teachers expressed their opinions on various topics, including the examination of the implementation experience of the Basic Law, the new positioning of the practice of "One Country, Two Systems" in the Macau SAR, the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, the integration of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macau Deep Cooperation Zone system, and the profound significance of amending the "National Security Law." Director Liu Shuqiang attentively listened to the speeches of the teachers.
Seminar Scene
The study of the Basic Law holds significant theoretical guidance for the practice of "One Country, Two Systems." Over the past 23 years, the Faculty of Law has gradually formed a professional team of teachers in the field of constitutional law and the Basic Law, actively engaging in relevant professional research and participating in Macau's legal reform and legal system construction. Director Liu Shuqiang hopes that scholars at universities will continue their efforts to expand the depth and breadth of Basic Law research, jointly promote legal research in Macau, and contribute to the long-term prosperity, stability, and integration of Macau into the overall national development.
