On December 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM, the Faculty of Law at Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) successfully hosted a law lecture titled "Open Access in the Economic Sphere: Understanding China's Development" in Room N316 of the university library. The lecture was delivered by Professor Yu Guanghua from the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, with Assistant Professor Peng Yunpeng as the moderator. Professor Yi Zaicheng, Assistant Professor Wong Wengkuok, Assistant Professor Wang Wanli, Assistant Professor Wang Chao, and over a hundred students from the faculty participated in the lecture.

During the lecture, Professor Yu Guanghua first focused on statistical data and raised several legal issues related to the reform of Chinese company law. Subsequently, Professor Yu combined case studies from Singapore, India, Japan, Brazil, and China to analyze and explain the interrelationships between open access and property rights protection, contract enforcement, financial markets, and other areas in the economic sphere. Finally, Professor Yu emphasized the need for the academic community to further study issues such as high-level opening-up, optimization of the business environment, strengthening of property rights protection, and healthy development of capital markets, in order to promote the country's economic development.
During the interactive session, students actively engaged in discussions and posed questions, and the lecture concluded successfully amidst a vibrant academic atmosphere.
