We received over 150 visitors during our medical simulation extravaganza events last week. This 6-day event at the skills centre of Faculty of Health Sciences, MUST was an opportunity to discover various medical simulation courses available, demonstrated first-hand by our instructors.
There was plenty to entertain and inspire potential paramedical science students and participants to our campus, with first class simulation equipment, high fidelity manikins and classroom lectures throughout the three-hour per day activities. The extravaganza event last for a whole week from 7th – 12th July. The 1,200 sq meters Center of Excellence for Professional Medical Development facility includes Virtual Reality Laboratory and skills stations emulate real-life healthcare environments. Visitors were able to see how basic skills training and exercises are run in the centre and explanations of a complex design and engineering provides full hospital simulation tied to advanced video recording and monitoring for teacher supervision and instruction.
This event was also supported by the healthcare industry with the launch of some new devices with “force-feedback” features which was a key attraction for many visitors. “It has been exciting to see such a great turnout. We want to encourage the general public to explore what our faculty has to offer especially if they have plans to pursue any number of other opportunities that exist within our future training programs. Providing some level of assistance to students is just one way we can support them as they pursue their dreams of working in the healthcare arena.”
