II. Duration of Study

The normal study period of Master of Film Production program is two years. The maximum study period is 3 years. (Students admitted in or before academic year 2018/2019, please refer to the rules and regulations as stipulated in the intake academic year study plan).

VI. Study Requirements

  1. Students are required to complete and pass the former six compulsory courses and four elective courses in the first 3 semesters to gain 30 credits.
  2. Students need to complete 120 hours internship during the second and third semester to get 6 credits.
  3. After finishing each course, students will be assessed by different ways depending on regulations established by the instructor and the Macau Academy of Cinematic Arts.
  4. Students have to complete an original research master’s thesis which is not less than 20000 words, or finish an original graduation project together with a statement not less than 8000 words. Then they need to pass the thesis oral defense to gain totally 12 credits.
  5. If the student passes all courses but does not pass the final defense during the specified maximum study period, he/she can only get a completion certificate.

VII. Duration of the Program

The duration for taking all courses is 18 months and the duration for thesis writing/ graduation project is 6 months.

VIII. Qualification for GraduationUpon approval from the Senate of the University, a Master/Doctoral Degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has:

  1. Completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific study period, a cumulative GPA (excluding thesis/dissertation) must not lower than 2.5
  2. Abided by the regulations of the University
  3. Cleared all fees and charges and returned all University property and equipment borrowed

If students pass all courses required in Form 1 and 2 above with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, but fail the final defense during the specified period, he/she only can get a completion certificate.

Note: All curriculum programs and study plan are set according to the newest announcement of the BOLETIS OFICIAL DA REGIÃO ADMINISTRATIVA ESPECIAL DE MACAU.

In case of any conflicts, the Chinese version shall prevail.
