Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research Retrospect of 2015/2016 Academic Year Activities and Opening Ceremony of New Semester

Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research hold the retrospect of 2015/2016 academic year activities and opening ceremony of new semester on 27 September 2016 at M.U.S.T. Hall in block N. Program was hosted by Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research, co-organized by M.U.S. T. School of Business and B.O.C. Macau branch. The guests who attended the opening ceremony included Mr. Jiang Kuiwei, Assistant General Manager of BOC Macau, Ms. Chen Fen, Director of Personal Banking Department, Ms. Choi Ieng Chi, Deputy Director of Personal Banking Department, Mr. Su Kun, Deputy General Manager of Human Resources Department, Prof. Pang Chuan, M.U.S.T. Vice President, Prof. Lin Zhijun, Dean of School of Business and Prof. Liu Chengkun, Head of Department of Accounting and Finance. Students who participated in this program were also invited to witness this valuable moment.

In M.U.S.T. Vice President Prof. Pang Chuan ‘s address, he remarked that Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research serves to cultivate talents and implement academic research so as to meet the needs of financial market and Macau economic developmental trend. The courses “Experiential Learning in Financial Institution” and “Study on Financial Issues” were launched and gained positive response from our students, which accumulated experience in cooperation with social organizations for seeking and cultivating Macau financial talents.

Mr. Jiang Kuiwei, Assistant General Manager of BOC Macau, also gave a speech in opening ceremony. He remarked that Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research has built a both innovative and practical platform of bank-university cooperation. Our students showed their support on related courses and financial roadshow, by giving their suggestions on optimizing bank’ products, services and banking procedure. Based on the previous experiences, Macau Center for Finance Innovation Research will continually optimize and launch course “Experiential Learning in Financial Institution”. While BOC will keep support center’s activities and maintain the friendly cooperative relationship with university.

Afterwards, Prof. Liu Chengkun and Mr. Su Kun reviewed the status of last year’s study performance and introduced the details of new semester’s courses.

Two students who participated in the course last year, Yue Yao and Lu, Xiaotong, shared the experiences they have gained from the course and roadshow practice. They noted that several aspects of achievements were acquired through the course, not only on the theory from books, but also enriched working and social experiences.

Mr. Jiang Kuiwei, Ms. Chen Fen, Prof. Pang Chuan and Prof. Lin Zhijun were invited to present certificate to the students who joined the “Study on Financial Issues” course and financial roadshow. Before the end of ceremony, students shared their learning experiences so as to enhance cross-grades students’ academic exchange.
