A delegation led by Mr. Chen Chuanhong, Director-General of Department of Science & Technology for Social Development, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, visited Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) in the morning of March 27th, 2015, and was warmly welcomed by President Chair Professor Liu Liang, Associate Vice President Jiang Zhihong and Ms. Lou Lai Chu, Deputy Administrative Officer of Research and Technology Administration Office of MUST.
During the meeting, President Liu introduced to Director-General Chen Chuanhong the MUST’s progress in the recent years, especially the current achievement and future development plan for the research institutes and laboratories such as Macau Institute for Applied Research in Medicine and Health, the Space Science Institute, the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, the partner laboratory of the Key Laboratory of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. President Liu also emphasized the importance of the support and assistance from the Central Government and all sectors of society. Director-General Chen confirmed
the achievement that MUST has made in the recent years and applauded the policies of “placing equal emphasis on teaching and research” and “promoting quality education and outstanding research”.
After the meeting, accompanied by President Liu, Direct-General Chen’s delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine. With President Liu and some research staff members’ introduction, the delegation was greatly impressed by the advanced research facilities and high research level of the laboratory.
The visiting delegation also included Mr. Huang Shengbiao, head of the Division of Resources and Environment, Department of Science & Technology for Social Development, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Xu Jun, head of the Division of Science and Technology, Department of Economic Affairs, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR.
