Professor Pang Chuan, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology and Dean of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, paid an official visit on 31st May and 1st June to Southwest Minority University, Sichuan Normal University and Sichuan Tourism College, three higher education institutions in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. The delegation included Ms. Amy Chu, Vice Dean of FHTM and Dr. Zhang Yang, FHTM program director.
The delegation had meetings with the three institutions on educational and academic research management, discussed the collaboration potentialities and signed MOU between the parties. The delegation shared experiences and information on education management, practical-skill cultivation and curriculum design with the three institutions and discussed the cooperation intentions in the fields of hospitality management, tourism planning, food and beverage and culinary arts. Meanwhile, the delegation also exchanged opinions with the three institutions on research collaboration, teacher/student exchange program and about the possibility to co-organize academic conference. Then the delegation toured around the campuses on academic buildings, library, museum, professional technology training center, culinary lab center and food research center. At the end of the visits, on behalf of FHTM, Vice President Pang Chuan signed MOUs with the three institutions respectively, on exchange programs for students and teachers, collaboration in research, cooperation in teaching and practice.
This official visit has enhanced mutual understanding and academic exchange between MUST and three Sichuan institutions, and has laid solid foundation for further and deeper cooperation in teaching and research in the foreseeable future.
