During the opening speech, President Joseph Hun-wei LEE stated that with the support of our nation and Macao SAR governments, the overall competitiveness and international influence of the University have continued to improve. The Times Higher Education (THE) released the "Global University Employability Ranking 2022" last November, and out of the 250 universities listed, M.U.S.T. ranked 244th among the 250 universities listed globally and has been the only university from Macao to make the list for three consecutive years. Moreover, M.U.S.T. has been strengthening ties with businesses and relevant government departments in the Greater Bay Area in recent years and has been actively participating in its construction and talent cultivation, deepening the integration of industry and education, and building a platform for cooperation among government, academia, and industry. M.U.S.T. hopes to attract more skilled and application-oriented talents to the Greater Bay Area.

Over the past three years, the global economy has been severely impacted by the pandemic. This year, as the economy gradually recovers and human resource demand across all industries surges, President Joseph Hun-wei LEE expressed his hope that graduates can seize this opportunity, adjust their mindset, enhance their competitiveness, and fully prepare themselves to explore their careers, accomplish their dreams, and serve society.
