M.U.S.T. Students Won Top Prizes in “Competition for Macao Tertiary Institutions on Innovative Business Plans for Markets 2023”

On 22nd May 2023, the “Competition for Macao Tertiary Institutions on Innovative Business Plans for Markets 2023” was held, sponsored by the Municipal Affairs Bureau and co-organized by the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau. The award ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Municipal Affairs Bureau on 15th June and the Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) achieved remarkable results, winning awards such as champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up, as well as merit awards, the best creative concept award, the best practical function award, and the best road show award.

The Municipal Affairs Bureau continuously optimizes public market facilities and related services to promote the sustainable development of public markets. To allow younger generations to better understand and participate in the development of wet markets, the Bureau held the “Competition for Macao Tertiary Institutions on Innovative Business Plans for Markets 2023” with the theme of “Cohesive Communities, Revitalization, and Innovation.” The competition was held from March to May 2023, and after the roadshow briefing evaluation and the final roadshow competition, six teams entered the finals.

In the end, the representative team of M.U.S.T. won the championship, first runner-up, second runner-up, merit award, best road show award, best creative concept award, and best practical function award after fierce competition in the roadshow. The student team (student list: Zhang Tong, Zong Yepu, Huang Rihan, Fu Wanting, and Wang Jingzhuo) guided by Associate Professor Pai Chen-Kuo of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management won first place with outstanding performance. The student team (student list: Zhang Zhixin, Qiu Chudi, Dong Chuyao, Hu Xulin, and Chen Yingjia) guided by Assistant Professor Wang Shuo of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management won the first runner-up, best creative concept award, and best practical function award. The student team (student list: Zhong Jinying, Lin Jiajun, Jie Jiacheng, Jiang Xinyi and Li Chen) guided by Assistant Professor Chen Yue of the School of Business won the third place.

M.U.S.T. will continue encouraging students to actively participate in various competition activities and strive to cultivate outstanding talent that combines theory with practice.
