Regions and cities in the Greater Bay Area are deeply connected. This joint internship activity allowed students from the three universities to collaborate and learn from each other. It enhanced students’ mutual cultural identity in the Greater Bay Area. One of the participants, undergraduate student Huang Liwei, stated, “Through learning the background of the construction of the Zhuxiandong Reservoir, I realized that Zhuhai and Macao are closely related. In the future, I will view the development of Macao’s tourism industry from a bigger perspective.” Undergraduate student Dong Jiaqi said, “The joint development of the three universities is like a microcosm of the joint development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. We have different research angles in disciplines, but we complement each other to achieve the same research goals, and that inspires me to think about the coordination of differences and joint development of the Greater Bay Area.” This joint geographical expedition activity benefited FHTM students by providing a deeper understanding and knowledge of the tourism and geography of the Greater Bay Area.
