Visit of Distinguished Portuguese Professors to Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST)
On January 15, 2025, Professor Rodrigo Martins, President of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) and Member of the Portuguese Engineering Academy and Academia Europaea, along with Professor Elvira Fortunato, from the Department of Materials Science, School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon and CEMOP/UNINOVA, Caparica, Portugal, visited the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The delegation received a warm welcome from Chair Professor Joseph Hun-wei LEE, Vice-Chancellor and President of MUST; Chair Professor Paul Kwong Hang TAM, Vice-President of MUST; Chair Professor Lee Shuit-Tong, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Macao Institute of Materials Science and Engineering; and Ms. Amy Oimei CHU, Head of Academic Affairs Office.
During their visit, the delegation walked through the Macau University of Science and Technology History and Achievements Exhibition Hall and the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences. Vice-Chancellor and President Joseph Hun-wei LEE extended a warm welcome to the delegation, providing an overview of MUST’s development and the status of its students. Chair Professor Lee Shuit-Tong highlighted the development history and accomplishments of the Macao Institute of Materials Science and Engineering.

Professors Rodrigo Martins and Elvira Fortunato praised MUST for its rapid development and remarkable scientific research achievements. They also expressed their gratitude to MUST for the invitation to attend the seminar on “Materials Science and Industry-University-Research Collaborations”.
