Congratulations! Prof. Zhang Tao from MUST Elected as Distinguished Member of China Computer Federation
The China Computer Federation (CCF) announced the results of its Distinguished Member selection on its official website on September 22, 2025. Professor Zhang Tao from the Faculty of Innovative Engineering at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) was elected as a Distinguished Member. Achieving the status of CCF Distinguished Member signifies a new milestone in CFF membership, represents the CCF's recognition of Professor Zhang Tao's achievements, and is a prestigious academic honor within the academia.
The CCF is a renowned professional academic society in the field of computer science in China and is a member of the China Association for Science and Technology. The CCF membership system includes Student Members, Professional Members, Senior Members, Distinguished Members, and Fellows. The selection process for Distinguished Member is highly rigorous. The selection committee conducts a comprehensive evaluation of applicants based on numerous dimensions, including professional experience, academic achievements, contributions to the CCF, and industry recognition. Furthermore, only CCF Senior Members are eligible to be considered. This year, a total of 231 CCF Senior Members were elected as Distinguished Members, and Professor Zhang Tao is one of them. He is also the second distinguished scholar from MUST to receive this honor!
Professor Zhang Tao's primary research interests include intelligent software engineering, software security, and smart contract vulnerability detection. He has led multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund, among others, and has published over 100 papers in renowned journals and conferences in the fields of software engineering and information security. Professor Zhang currently serves as the Chair of the Conference Awards at IEEE Technical Committee on Software Engineering (TCSE) and is the only Chinese executive member on this committee. He also serves as the Founding Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Macau Chapter and the Secretary-General of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Blockchain Alliance. He was the General Chair of the flagship software engineering conference SANER 2023 and the Program Committee Chair for Internetware 2024. He currently holds the position of Associate Editor for top-tier journals in software engineering and reliability, including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, and the Journal of Systems and Software. Furthermore, he has been invited multiple times to serve on the program committees of the top four conferences in software engineering.
