Vice President Paul Kwong-Hang TAM delivered remarks

In his welcoming remarks, Vice President Paul Kwong-Hang Tam highlighted that since its establishment in 2023, PRMRC has aimed to build a focused and collaborative platform advancing stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, and translational innovation. He emphasized the Centre’s commitment to maintaining strong links between basic science, clinical research, and industry, as well as nurturing the next generation of scientists and clinicians. He noted that the symposium featured three key themes: Precision and Regenerative Hepatobiliary Medicine, Developmental and Genetic Foundations of Regeneration, and Translational Frontiers in Regenerative Medicine.

President Vincent U Sang U delivered remarks

Dr. Vincent U Sang U highlighted the importance of what he described as the “three Cs” of scientific advancement: connection, curiosity, and collaboration. He encouraged participants to make full use of the symposium as a platform to strengthen professional networks and to initiate new partnerships across disciplines and sectors. Dr. U also outlined the Macau SAR Government’s strategic plans to establish a technology research industrial park, with biomedicine identified as a key priority area, to further support the translation of scientific research into innovation and industrial development. In addition, he noted that Macau is deepening its integration with the Greater Bay Area, with more than 30 Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau joint laboratories established in recent years, creating new opportunities for cross-regional collaboration in medical sciences and other research fields.
