Shaping a New Engine for the Low-Altitude Economy! MUST Launches the Master of Science in Low-Altitude Economy and Technology

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) was formally granted registration approval by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region on May 27, 2026 for the establishment of the Master of Science in Low-Altitude Economy and Technology. Admissions for the program will commence in the Fall Semester of the 2026/2027 academic year, and online applications will be accepted from now until June 30, 2026, Admission will close once all places are filled.

The “Low-Altitude Economy” has been incorporated into China’s new medium- and long-term development framework and is explicitly identified in the 15th Five-Year Plan as a strategic emerging industry, serving as an important driver for fostering new quality productive forces. Internationally, the rapid development of this sector also indicates that it is becoming a new frontier of global competition. Against this backdrop, Macau University of Science and Technology has established the Master of Science in Low-Altitude Economy and Technology in response to national development priorities and societal needs. Leveraging its distinctive strengths, the University aims to cultivate interdisciplinary professionals with strong engineering capabilities, industry insight and international competitiveness through a curriculum focused on cutting-edge technologies and practical industry applications.

The program is offered by the Faculty of Innovation Engineering, which is dedicated to the integrated development of engineering and information technologies. Its academic scope covers areas such as computer science, materials, environmental science and space technology. Leveraging multiple research platforms, the Faculty promotes interdisciplinary research and collaborative innovation among industry, academia and research institutions, providing strong support for talent development in the Low-Altitude Economy and other emerging fields.
