Medical Sciences Division Held Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2026

The Medical Sciences Division (MSD) of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) held its 2026 Faculty Graduation Ceremony on the morning of 3rd June 2026 in the University Hall (Block R).

The MSD, comprising the Faculty of Chinese Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, and School of Pharmacy, conferred degrees upon a total of 432 graduates this year, including 74 doctoral, 128 master's, and 230 bachelor's degree recipients.

The ceremony was officiated by Chair Professor Jian-Kang Zhu, President of MUST; Chair Professor Paul Kwong-Hang Tam, Vice President; Chair Professor He Yao, Vice President and Director of Macao Translational Medicine Center; Professor Manson Fok, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Professor Sun Zhiguang, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine. More than 849 faculty members, students, family members, and guests attended the event to celebrate this important milestone.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthem. Messages of congratulations were delivered by Chair Professor Zhu Yi Zhun, MUST Vice President and Director of the School of Pharmacy, Professor Manson Fok, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Sun Zhiguang, Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine.

In his address, Chair Professor Zhu encouraged graduates to embrace future challenges with confidence and to pursue excellence in their professional fields. Congratulating them on the successful completion of their studies, he urged them to contribute actively to the development of the nation, the Greater Bay Area, and the healthcare industry.

Professor Fok emphasised that the core value of medicine lies in using professional knowledge to alleviate human suffering. He expressed his hope that graduates would uphold compassion and professionalism wherever they may serve, contribute to the advancement of healthcare, and continue to make a positive impact on society.

Professor Sun extended his sincere congratulations to all graduates and expressed gratitude to faculty members, parents, and members of the community for their support. He encouraged graduates to carry forward the traditions of Chinese medicine, remain true to the calling of healthcare professionals, continually refine their academic and clinical expertise, and courageously shoulder social responsibilities. He also reminded graduates that their alma mater would always remain a source of support and encouragement.

The ceremony also recognised outstanding academic achievement through the presentation of Honour Cords.

Recipients of the Second-Class were Ziyue Hong, Ruixuan He, Hadassah Supnet Da Silva, Lerong Chen, Mingqian Li, Zhengyu Hu and Qianru Jin.

Graduate representatives Zhengyu Hu (Faculty of Chinese Medicine), Ut Iong Yau (Faculty of Medicine), and Sin Ieng Vong (School of Pharmacy) delivered speeches on behalf of their fellow graduates. Reflecting on their experiences at MUST, they expressed gratitude to their teachers for their guidance and to their classmates for their mutual support. They noted that the University had provided abundant academic and practical opportunities that enabled their holistic development and personal growth. They concluded by wishing their alma mater continued success and an even brighter future.
