The qualification examination for health professionals is a critical step and milestone in the medical licensure process in Macau, designed to evaluate the professional knowledge and clinical capabilities of future healthcare practitioners. Covering a wide range of specialties, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Public Health, the examination is comprehensive and highly demanding. The 100% pass rate achieved by our MBBS graduates demonstrates their solid theoretical foundation and validates the Faculty’s internationalized, practice-oriented curriculum.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Manson Fok, expressed high praise and pride in this outstanding accomplishment: "Since its establishment, our MBBS program has adhered to a student-centered and clinical-oriented educational philosophy. The exceptional results achieved by our graduates in the internship licensing exam reflect both their dedicated hard work and the meticulous guidance of our academic staff. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our commitment to supporting the Macau SAR Government's strategies for healthcare development and the growth of the Big Health industry."
The MBBS program at the Faculty of Medicine, MUST, is Macau’s first undergraduate professional medical degree program. Its six-year, competency-based curriculum integrates biomedical sciences, case-based learning and progressive clinical training to develop competent, compassionate and patient-centred doctors. Delivered in English and Chinese, the program prepares graduates to serve Macau’s healthcare needs while equipping them for professional practice and opportunities internationally.
Students receive practical training through advanced teaching, simulation and research facilities, as well as extensive clinical placements at affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions in Macau, mainland China, Europe and beyond. The Faculty and MBBS program are also supported by cutting-edge research in the Medical Science Division, State Key Laboratory of Mechanism and Quality of Chinese Medicine, as well as the Precision and Regenerative Medicine Centre, giving students access to biomedical innovation and the evolving role of technology in healthcare.
