On 5 September 2026, the 2026 Macau University Student Conference Event Planning Competition concluded at the Greenwich Room of The Londoner Macao. Under the guidance of Assistant Dean Prof. Wong Weng Chou and Assistant Professor Pan Yu and of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), three teams involving FHTM students won the Overall Champion, Second Runner-up and Merit Award respectively, while Cheng Xiyuan and Cheng Sitong received the Best Speaker Award. This victory marks the Faculty’s seventh consecutive overall championship. Please refer to the table below for the full list of awardees. Overall Champion was won by Cheng Xiyuan, Lin Jiahui, Chen Guanhan and Wong Yuxuan u with the topic “Nurturing Well‑being, Rooted in Kinship · Warmth Shared Across the Greater Bay Area— Forum on Cross‑border Elderly Care and People‑centred Livelihood Development”; Second Runner‑up (Third Place) was won by Cheng Sitong, Tan Enming, Ji Ziheng and Chu Ka I with the topic “Compassion of Guangdong‑Macao · The Wisdom of Active Wellness — International Summit on Sports Health and Traditional Chinese Medical Rehabilitation”; Merit Award went to Liu Hanyu, Meng Yitong, Wang Yifan and Zhang Hio Ian with the topic “Forging the Data Canal, Building a Shared Hub Port — International Forum on Global Digital Economy and Cross‑border Data Flows”.

Organized by the Youth Committee of the Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, the competition is a high-level university competition in Macao specializing in conference and event planning. It assesses participants’ creativity, logical structure, project execution and on-site presentation, and serves as a platform for nurturing young MICE talent.

The competition attracted teams from multiple universities in Macao; after preliminary screening, 16 teams advanced to the finals. The champion team distinguished itself with creative ideas, a rigorous proposal and seamless teamwork, delivering a stage-style presentation that combined narrative appeal and professionalism.

The interdisciplinary team from FHTM and the Faculty of Humanities and Arts leveraged complementary strengths, presenting the project concept through scenario-based displays. Cheng Sitong, dressed in traditional attire and using demonstrative movements, echoed the theme of “Dynamic Wellness” and added cultural flair, earning the team the Second Runner-up title.

The team comprising FHTM and Faculty of Medicine students focused on the global digital economy and cross-border data flows, enhancing the presentation with specially produced videos and rhythmic content, and ultimately won the Merit Award. At the final, contestants delivered presentations and took part in a Q&A session. Cheng Xiyuan and Cheng Sitong received the Best Speaker Award for their professional delivery and poised performance, showcasing the students’ solid foundation and competitive excellence.

These achievements reflect the FHTM’s commitment to professional education in conference and event planning and its emphasis on learning through competition.
