The Zhuhai-Hengqin-Macao Super Commercial Power Forum a thematic sub-forum of the 5th China (Macao) High-quality Consumption Exhibition & Hengqin Global Bay Areas Forum, co-hosted by Zhuguang Group and Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited was held on September 10, 2026, at the Tianmu Qintai Conference and Exhibition Center in Hengqin. Themed “New Consumption · New Scenarios · New Experiences,” it gathered government representatives from Zhuhai and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, along with representatives from the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association, the Macau Hoteliers & Innkeepers Association, the Macao Association of Convention, Exhibition & Tourism Sectors, and the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC. Professor Jose Wong, Assistant Dean of FHTM at MUST, and Professor Siqing Peng of Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management were academic keynote speakers. Experts, scholars, and industry representatives discussed new consumption trends, scenario innovation, and regional coordinated development.

Professor Jose Wong Delivers a Keynote Speech

Professor Wong delivered a keynote speech titled “New Paradigms of Cross-Border Consumption under Hengqin-Macao Integration: From Passenger Transit to Co-Construction of a Living Circle.” Focusing on the forum theme, he analyzed four areas—the era’s background and traffic foundation, port layout and commercial gaps, consumer behavior and paradigm shifts, and practice and future development—offering a new paradigm for Hengqin-Macao integration and Bay Area commercial coordination.

As the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area continues to develop and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin accelerates, ties among Zhuhai, Hengqin, and Macao have grown closer. FHTM at MUST has long focused on coordinated cultural tourism development in the Greater Bay Area and promoted integration of academic research and industry practice. Professor Wong’s invitation reflects the Faculty’s service to the Greater Bay Area. The Faculty will deepen collaboration with Zhuguang Group, seize opportunities in the Cooperation Zone, and continue contributing to cultural tourism consumption research, cross-border tourism service innovation, and the Hengqin-Macao commercial ecosystem, supporting the Cooperation Zone and the Greater Bay Area as an international consumption hub, and advancing Macao’s moderate economic diversification and Hengqin-Macao integration.
