The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Macau University of Science and Technology successfully hosted an academic lecture on September 17, 2026. Professor Garry Tan from UCSI University was invited as the guest speaker, delivering a lecture titled “Crafting Research Papers for Top-Tier Journals”. The lecture was attended by Professor Ben K. GOH, Dean of F.H.T.M., Assistant Dean Dr. Yang ZHANG, Associate Professor Dr. Yingni LIU, Ms. Zhongying OU, several other faculty members and students. This seminar was sponsored by Education Fund of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

Dean Ben K. Goh extended a warm welcome, on behalf of all FHTM faculty and students, to Professor Garry Tan for visiting MUST. In the lecture, Professor Garry Tan drew upon his extensive experience in publishing and reviewing to elucidate the complete process and key strategies for writing high-quality journal articles in an accessible manner. He emphasized the importance of crafting effective titles and abstracts, introduced techniques for writing literature reviews, and provided guidance on how to select journals for submission scientifically. Additionally, he shared tips for enhancing writing and submission success rates. This lecture not only imparted practical writing skills but also inspired researchers to pursue academic excellence and enhance their research impact.
