FHTM 7th Annual PSAC Competition

The Students’ Union of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) held the 7th Annual PSAC Competition on April 19 at Room N211.
Ms Amy Chu, Vice Dean (Administrative) of FHTM gave a welcome speech to all the competitors, judges and guests. The judging panel included Assistant Professor Dr Wong Weng Chong, Assistant Professor Dr Feng Yan, and Lecturer Mr. Kwok Wing Cheong.
This year’s PSAC Competition took new format, featuring three rounds and aiming to select the best team which would be awarded the title “Excellent Service Ambassadors”. It consisted of three sections: questions and answers, speeches, and simulation to emulate real-world scenarios. After the first round of Q and A based on professional knowledge in the fields of hospitality, tourism and catering, three teams won the opportunity to the next round. These three teams then delivered prepared speeches on the given topics in a confident and logical manner. Judges commented on their performances and voted for the top two teams for the final round. In the final round of simulation, competitors were challenged with real world problem scenarios and yet they were quick and smart enough to solve one problem after another with their professional knowledge and skills, thus providing excellent service. Not only did the audience enjoy their performance, but also the judges who shared their comments and awarded the top three winners and the most popular performer.
The PSAC Competition was successfully completed with warm applauses from all attendees. This competition has created a platform for aspiring students to challenge themselves and achieve personal breakthroughs. We believe all participants can grow and glow and we look forward to your participation at our next competition!
