FHTM Guest lecture by department leaders Mr. Hoi Io Meng and Ms. Ma U Leng of Macao Government Tourism Office

On the morning of May 9, 2018,Mr. Hoi Io Meng, Head of Organizational Planning and Development Department and Ms. Ma U Leng, Head of Research and Planning Division of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) were invited to present a lecture for the postgraduate students. They shared with the students about the targets and major achievements of MGTO and received a warm welcome from Dr. Zhou Yong, Associate Professor of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) and the students.

Mr. Hoi Io Meng started with the introduction of the organization chart of MGTO and the function of the departments which provided students with a better understanding of the objectives of MGTO. Then he demonstrated a range of attainments of tourism development in Macau, including the Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan and one of the most vital achievements, the designation of Macao as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Afterwards, Ms. Ma U Leng explained the source of information of Macau tourism industry and how to get access to various databases. As a consequence, the development of Macau tourism was showed in details. Finally, the guest speakers and students got excellent interaction with each other on the discussion of the topic of the day.

At the end of the lecture, all the attendees expressed their sincere gratitude to the two guest speakers and a group photo was taken for remembrance.
