“Introduction to Qualitative Research” Held at M.U.S.T. Nearly 100 Teachers and Students Attended

The 3rd workshop of FHTM Summer Research Seminar Series entitled “Introduction to Qualitative Research” was held on June 24th, 2020 at MUST. Prof. Denise Blum and PhD student Mr. Kai Sean, Oklahoma State University, were invited to give a talk. This workshop was sponsored by Macao Foundation and attended by nearly 100 FHTM teachers and postgraduate students, including FHTM Dean Prof. Ben K Goh and Program Director Zhang Yang.

Professor Denise Blum gave a talk

Dr. Denise Blum is an Associate Professor in Social Foundations at Oklahoma State University. She is also the Chair of Development for the Council of Anthropology of Education. She is a member of the Editorial board for International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education. She is author of three books and numerous book chapters and has refereed articles in top journals. Mr. Kai Sean is a third year Hospitality Administration doctoral student in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Oklahoma State University. He is currently using qualitative methods in his research.

Professor Denise Blum indicated in her presentation that as qualitative research methods continue to be standardized, researchers can control the steps and methods to meet the requirements of scientific research. Mr. Kai Sean discussed the current situation of qualitative research methods and the judging criteria of academic papers. In this workshop, FHTM teachers and students participated in engaging discussion.
