On October 10, 2023, a group of 46 BITM students, led by Dr. Salott Chau, had the opportunity to visit the stunning Grand Lisboa Palace in Macau. The students were presented with a tour of three magnificent and distinctive hotel buildings, each showcasing a unique blend of European architectural features and traditional Chinese cultural elements. Among these buildings were the "Grand Lisboa Palace," which stands as the first Versace luxury hotel in Macau and in all of Asia, and the exclusively designed "Karl Lagerfeld luxury hotel building," the only one of its kind in the world. During the visit, the attentive staff provided the students with a comprehensive introduction to the wealth of leisure and entertainment options available at Grand Lisboa Palace. They highlighted the extraordinary range of dining experiences offered at the resort's special restaurants, which featured an array of global cuisines. The students were also impressed by the expansive shopping center, covering an area of over 75,000 square meters, offering a diverse selection of retail outlets. Furthermore, the staff showcased the resort's magnificent multi-functional exhibition venue and other facilities designed to cater to a variety of holiday preferences. As a special treat, Grand Lisboa Palace arranged a virtual trip to Versailles for the students. Guided by the staff, the students were able to immerse themselves in the breathtaking scenery and captivating interior designs of the resort, leaving them awestruck by the experience.
The Grand Lisboa Palace offered an unparalleled level of luxury and comfort to its guests. Each hotel building boasted indoor and outdoor constant temperature swimming pools, exquisite spas, and state-of-the-art fitness centers, promising guests a novel and unique luxury experience. The "Grand Lisboa Palace" hotel building, with its 1,350 rooms, showcased a modern Chinese style infused with bold and vibrant colors, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of Macau. The Versace Macau Luxury Hotel Building, comprising 270 rooms, was meticulously designed by the internationally renowned team led by Donatella Versace herself. Similarly, the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld personally oversaw the interior design of all 270 rooms in the "Macau Karl Lagerfeld Luxury Hotel Building," adding his iconic touch to the resort. In addition to the exceptional accommodations, the resort boasted a range of top-tier facilities. These included the flagship duty-free shop in Macau, operated by China Duty Free (Group) Co., Ltd., and a large department store managed by NYH Retail Management Co., Ltd. The "Grand Lisboa Hall" provided a grand venue for banquets and celebrations, while the scenic "Green Scenery Garden" offered a serene and picturesque environment for guests to enjoy.
